Remains of San Ignacio Mini Jesuitical Mission are to be found 280 km from Foz do Iguaçu. That is a sample of the great work of acculturation done by the Jesuit missionaries within the Guarani Nation. Traces of a self sufficient community with a political, social, cultural and educational order established. San Ignacio Miní represents a great Architectonic value of a historical moment and it is included as a
World Heritage Site, as well as Trinidad and Jesus both in Paraguay. Built between 1609 and 1768 initially there were more than 80 missions but as of today only 30 are found distributed in Brazilian, Argentinean and Paraguayan territory. Among those, 8 are found in Paraguayan territory specially Trinidad, Santa Rosa and San Ignacio Guazú and San Ignacio Miní in Argentina.
Departure from Iguassu at 7h a.m. in an air-conditioned vehicle with a tour guide. This trip will cross the Province of Misiones in a North-South orientation allowing you to enjoy subtropical forest landscapes, pine plantations, eucalyptus and the yerba mate farms. You will arrive at San Ignacio Mini at approximately 12h, noon. Lunch is included. Visit to the Mission’s Archaeological Museum and the Ruins site.
Return to Iguassu with a stop for a visit to the precious stones mine of Wanda.
